About the Event Volunteer role
Event Volunteers will work with the public who are visiting buildings during the York Unlocked weekend event. As an Event Volunteer, you will manage queues, give directions, distribute fact sheets, answer practical questions and provide information about York Unlocked. What we ask of you
We ask you to commit to a 3.5-hour session (either morning or afternoon) and will allocate you to a specific building. You will also be invited to a briefing about the event.
What we offer you
You will be sent a copy of the York Unlocked programme, as well as a volunteer identification badge. As a volunteer you will have priority when visiting other buildings during York Unlocked. We also have volunteer events throughout the year which provide access to some of the unlocked buildings, as well as a chance to socialise.

- A great 12 month calendar of social events which usually include an "insider" tour of a unique York building (picture right is Barley Hall) followed by a social outing.
- Become part of a very successful new initiative. Last year we attracted around 14,000 people to visit 60+ sites. Our event gained rave reviews from visitors, building owners and Event Volunteers and we achieved national publicity.
